Wednesday walk

Rebekah in front of the kudzu. I have always thought of that stuff as a nuisance (it is!) until my mother-in-law came last summer. She thought it was so pretty. It made me realize it does look kind of neat to see it draped over everything. It's still a nuisance though!

The "snake bridge" as the kids call it. They like to walk down here and throw leaves in the creek. They play a game where two people throw a leaf in and the first leaf into the tunnel is the winner.

Sweet Lizzie watching the water.

Baby John slept through the whole walk. Poor baby was drenched in sweat by the time we got home. We all were. It was so humid yesterday.

Simi sitting down on one of our rest stops. He had to place his train just right before he would eat. He LOVES any kind of vehicle. He is so different from Joseph. Poor guy was recently sick and he lost a couple pounds. He's still has chubby legs and cheeks though! His arms and waist got skinny. It's amazing what a difference a few pounds can make on such a little guy.

Lizzie is three

We celebrated Elizabeth's birthday on Saturday with our friends here in the neighborhood, and had a barbecue, cake and ice cream. I couldn't find the camera then, so I wasn't able to take pictures. We had a brownie "cake" for her on Sunday for her actual birthday. Our neighbor got out their water slides and the kids all ran around having fun. I still can't believe Lizzie is three already.

Who needs a fork when you have hands?

Happiness is chicken!

Here is the kitchen that Jacob and I made for Lizzie (and the other kids) for her birthday. I'm not done with it yet, but I really didn't want to work on it anymore before Saturday. I still need to put up the window and make curtains, and the towel rack and rack for the serving spoons need to be added. We made it out of an old entertainment center we found on Craigslist.
Peace out man

Lizzie's new do

This sweet little girl...

who had long pretty hair...

found scissors in the office...
and butchered her hair.

Here she is with that look on her face. Yep, that I don't talk to strangers and she shouldn't be near me look.
Ooh...she likes it!

Just before church on Sunday

Here's the back!

She obviously didn't learn her lesson. She loves her new hair cut, so we keep letting her know she should NOT use scissors on her hair! Her personality has changed since she cut her hair on Saturday. I kid you not, that girl is so hyper and happy that Jacob and I figure her hair was just weighing her down. Now that it's gone she is free to bounce around. It is crazy! She skips all over the place. I don't think she knows how to walk at a normal pace anymore. Silly girl!

Bekah, Joseph, and Simeon all have the chickenpox now. I'm happy the rest of them are all getting it at once so we can be done with this! These three are so much more grouchy than Sariah and Lizzie were. Between Joseph and Rebekah we didn't get any sleep last night. Jacob is already planning on a nap after church, which he never does, so that's saying something.

Here is Simeon eating strawberry shake the day they came down with the chicken pox. I love how he has his eyebrows up. He's such a funny little boy.

The chickenpox are starting to show up now! Fun fun!
Joseph and his happy self. If he's distracted he forgets how irritating it is. Don't you just love that smile?!
Poor Rebekah got it the worst of everyone. This was yesterday, and I think there are even more today.
And here is our cute princess Lizzie. She wears that dress everyday. If you look close at her face you can see the last of her chickenpox marks right between her eyes. She's happy once again thankfully.

Chicken pox

As some of you know, we have chicken pox at our house. It's been fun! Well, it was for Sariah for a few days, but yesterday it hit her just how miserable and itchy you can be when you get the chicken pox. She got them in her mouth, and has finally started feeling sick. Elizabeth on the other hand is much better. She had a really high fever and was hallucinating the night she came down with it. It was pretty wild to see it. Thankfully she is back to sleeping through the night and back in her own bed. Jacob and I both got to sleep for seven hours straight. Hooray! Simi obviously didn't get the chicken pox this time around. We'll see in two weeks if anyone else comes down with it.

Reminds me a little of Ali about 25 years ago, except Sariah's shirt is pink, and back then it was the walls that were pink. This was before the spots broke out all over the place. She looks much worse now, poor girl!
